Mexican Independence Day Festival
Unidos para la Familia, a grantee of the Pascale Sykes Foundation, hosted the Mexican Independence Day Festival on September 12, 2020 along the riverfront in Bridgeton. Unidos para la Familia staff, Jonathan Cummings, Isai García, and Isis Sosa, invited families to kick off the festivities honoring Mexican Independence, culture, and the community. Festival attendees were able to enjoy musical acts, dance performances, and authentic Mexican cuisine with friends, families, and visitors. Danza Azteca Del Anahuac captivated the audience with a ceremonial dance dedicated to its culture, indigenous people, and Mother Earth. Unidos para la Familia works together with the people and families they serve to strengthen the whole family. These events are designed to be family fun and encourage families to volunteer and give back to the community.
